Who is Alex Thurber?

On 27 April, BlackBerry announced that they had hired Alex Thurber as the new Senior Vice President for Global Device Sales. Now many people questioned who this person was and what experience that he actually brought to the table for BlackBerry. With a little digging into Alex’s past I can see that he has absolutely no experience in the smartphone business per say.
