U.S. Navy To Complete Transition To iOS and Android By May

Last year, SPAWAR announced they'd be transitioning all NMCI devices from BlackBerry handsets to Android and iOS devices - citing today that within 45 days they'll be no more BlackBerry Devices within the organizations. Announced this morning, the devices are being phased out by Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command for thousands of Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) users by the end of April 2016.

“BlackBerrys are almost out of the Navy inventory ...

BlackBerryCentral Turns 1 Today!

I am incredibly happy to announce that BlackBerryCentral is celebrating our one-year-anniversary today!

An idea that started in June of 2014 quickly developed into a project with 30 team members contributing into building what has become one (If I do say so myself) among the three of the best BlackBerry-centric websites in North America. If you recall, we started with a hefty mission statement about our site identity; which I feel still holds much weight in what the site has become (You Can Read Our First ...

REMINDER: BBM Meetings Service Discontinued

As we reported at the beginning of December, BlackBerry has officially EOL'd BBM Meetings effective yesterday, February 10th, 2016. Just over a year after launching the service nontheless.

If you recall, this is one of BlackBerryCentral's favourite product offerings from the company - and it comes as pure dissapointment in terms of it closing down. Of course, this move is all part of cutting costs and reducing staff wherever possible.

Check out the official support document here:

Effective February 10th 2016, the BBM Meetings service ...
