The desire for privacy has never been greater after the recent WikiLeaks release that the CIA could possibly hack automotive software -- naming BlackBerry QNX OS-based platforms as potential targets.

BlackBerry Announces New Partnership Program

If there's one thing BlackBerry has done well under John Chens' leadership; it's leveraging partnerships. The latest sees the company expanding its embedded software through a new partner program. Predominately aimed at pushing QNX, the Value-Added Integrator program will allow industry to tap into a worldwide network of QNX and Certicom technologies trained experts.

BlackBerry Unveils Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Centre

John Chen was joined by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the 19th to unveil the QNX Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Centre.

Within the BlackBerry QNX facility in Ottawa, the centre will develop production-ready software independently (and in collaboration with partners) in the private and public sector for secure autonomous & connected vehicles. The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario recently approved BlackBerry's QNX to test autonomous vehicles on Ontario roads as part of a pilot program through the University of Waterloo.

First Electric Locomotive Built In Turkey Pulls Ahead With QNX Neutrino OS

TÜBİTAK MRC chose one of the worlds most secure and efficient operating systems to integrate into their E1000 electric locomotive.
