BlackBerry Argon Hits FCC and WiFi Alliance

If the leaked specs of the Argon or now known as DTEK60 was not enough to get you excited, then we have some more news for you.  Today it was noted that the BlackBerry Argon BBA100-1 and BBA100-2 passed through both the FCC and the WiFi Alliance.

From those sites, the specs for the Argon are:

5.5" diagonal, 534 PPI, 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution
All-touch screen, with intuitive gesture based navigation
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit Quad-Core (MSM8996 with 64 bit Quad-Core 2+2 Kryo 2.15GHz / 1.6GHz), Adreno 530, 624MHz GPU
4 GB RAM, 32 GB Flash
USB Type-C
3000 mAh 4.4V non-removable Lithium-Ion battery QC3.0 Enabled
21-megapixel auto-focus camera
8-megapixel Fixed-Focus
Fingerprint sensor (DTEK60)
Convenience key
Android 6.0.1

Notice the model code? It’s a deviation from the standard BlackBerry code which we have seen in the past. For example, the Priv’s code is STV-100-“X”. Which was in line with the BlackBerry 10 code convention. However, DTEK60 is using a whole new model naming convention. Why? Who knows…

Finally, we definitely get a confirmation on the finger print scanner, which I know a number of people were waiting for impatiently. That includes our very own David Lindahl.

Well let’s all hope that this is a sign that the DTEK60 is just imminent for a launch. This guy here, will likely end up with one in the near future upon release.
