With all the talk around the pending DTEK60 (Argon) release, there has been little talk about the Mercury lately, that is until now. The Mercury has made another appearance online this week, showing up on Geekbench. Despite my/our initial knowledge of the device as I outlined in my article “Iconic BlackBerry Physical Keyboards Will Live On” it is now known that the Mercury will not have those “top-tier” specs as what was believed.
What is known now is that the Mercury will be loaded with:
Snapdragon 625 processor @ 2.02GHz
3 GB RAM
4.5” HD display (resolution still unknown)
18MP rear camera and an 8MP FFC
Additionally, it is now known that Mercury will come with Android 7 (Nougat) out of the box; making it the 4th device to do so behind the Pixel, Pixel XL and LG V20.
Ultimately, this is shaping up to be a solid decent and definitely a good option for those looking to upgrade from their Classics, Passports (if you want to move away from BB10) or even the Priv.
